I have Decided

March 18th, 2006 in Personal

After writing this entry and thinking about it for a few days, I have decided. I decided to stay back in Miri and enroll for ITF’s CAT course. Well, that is if I didn’t get the Petronas Scholarship. If I get the scholarship, I will of course go for it. Free Education, of course I wanted it.

Well, I would like to thank all the commenters for their valueble words. Your opinions did open up some part of my mind, thinking further. For those who called me up or SMS me after I wrote that entry, thank you, your words is something I appreciate the most. For my MSN contacts, well, we do have a great time talking about our future. Thanks for all the comforting words.

I finally decided to take up accounts due to mainly due to this few considerations:

  1. My current financial situation
  2. A job security
  3. Something I don’t hate to do

Financial situation? Yea, my family is having a tight budget, trying to migrate from a working father family to a retire father family. I don’t want to burden my dad. I know my dad really wants me to study outstation, yes, I do to. But, I guess I want to earn and do it myself. Maybe some minor financial support is acceptable, but not too much. Dad, you still have to support the whole family. Wait until we’re stable, then I see what I can do.

I know, Engineering course can earn a lot, but Physics is tough for me. Taking Electrical and Electronics or Mechanical might bring me down the drain. These topics is some topic that I hate the most in SPM Physics. Though I may be able to cope up, but I have an attitude where I don’t do stuff I hate.

I have to give up Information System Engineering (for now) because of lack of jobs. Yes, I am paranoid. I am afraid that I can’t get a job with a degree majoring that. Since this is my interest, I have decided to self study all these computer related stuff. I still love computers. But I really can’t see myself working as a Programmer, IT Specialist or Network Admin in the future. Maybe interests doesn’t equal to a job? That’s my thought.

But, studying only in Miri makes me lose the chance to go outstation. That means I am going to lose the chance to do outstation study, living an independent life without family experience. I want to at least try that once, even if it’s for only a month. So, I plan to work after getting my CAT, then try to further study somewhere. At least, I can support myself, and I can experience outstation studies.

For my 2 friends who’s in UTAR taking foundation, who’s expecting me to join them this May, who’s trying so hard trying to find a place for me to stay, well, I am sorry that I am not going to join both of you. I just want to wish both of you good luck and all the best.

We have to make choices and sacrifices once in a while. Hence, be grateful for the ability to make your own choices.

Regardless of IT or Accountancy, you know what best for you. I’m so amazed to see you sacrificing your IT interest to take accountancy. The good thing about ITare since they advance quite fast, in the end, you can learn more stuff by buying books off the shelf rather then sit in lecture room at uni.
Not all stuff of course but it’s all good. Don’t let go your passion. :)

Glad to see you’ve finally made up your mind. It’s your decision, no one can, and no one will change it. So, wish you good luck for your future. :D :D

ps: when will your course start?
