Is this our Malaysian Idol?
It was 9pm. I was in front of the computer. The TV was on. Malaysian Idol 2 Finals Result show. Nita vs Daniel.

Nita. She’s tall and her voice is simply amazing.
Daniel. He’s not-so-tall and his voice is not-so-amazing.
The winner? Daniel. X/
The finals was friday. Both of them sing three songs. Nita’s singing gets good comments from the judges while Daniel’s singing gets not-so-good comments. From what I can hear from their singing, Nita sings better than Daniel.
But Daniel win. He wins. He wins. He wins…. :fishy:
I don’t how can Daniel win with that kind of singing. Compare Daniel and the first Malaysian Idol, Jac. I bet Jac can beat Daniel kaw kaw, even Daniel sings with all his heart. 
I can see that the reason Daniel can win because he is popular among the malaysian chinese girl. Almost all the girls in my MSN contacts supports Daniel. I was in IRC, and all those girl is like “Daniel rawks…” or “Muakcz Daniel…” :fishy: I heard from my friend that there’s even girls that spent around RM100 on their prepaid just to vote for Daniel!!
Last year’s Malaysian Idol was far better. At least the winner was someone that can really sing with her powerful voice.

aiyo…u didn’t hear Daniel sing with your heart le.. :fishy: if u did,u sure wil noe whats the reason that made him win…not because of his LOOK!!but his voice…his talent~
Nita got her talent while Daniel also hav his own talent…different people different talent ma.. :noworry: Anyway..Daniel win..keke..

As a Malaysian, I’m certainly embarassed with the results. The new song, Mimpi, that Daniel sings suck! We can’t blame the results coz most adults (who are better judges) never contribute a single vote although they love nita.
During the press conference, one of the caller asked Daniel how is he going to represent Malaysia in the WOrld Idol since he doesn’t have a powerful voice. He started to ‘gelabah’ to answer that. I don’t expect him to have a powerful voice. Just don’t sing of tune like what he did last Friday. Don’t have high expectation for him. POor Daniel.

i thought there is another one guy on Astro Talent Quest who also got into the finals with the total amount of votes he gets, but as i remember he didn’t win

i tell you, next year, i’ll also join the idol auditions and i’ll know that i can get to the finals. why? because apparently you just have to look good and appeal to a mediocre crowd with enough $$$ to support you all the way and you’re on your way to idol-dom.
i’ll just have plastic surgery to look cute and pretty so that the ah bengs who dunno how to spell will be attracted to me and vote for me.
then i’ll mumble my way through the songs while singing with all my heart and might.
then cry during the workshop eliminations so that people will think i’m soooo into it.
show everyone that i can play a range of musical instruments. (i play the sax and that beats the violin anytime!!)
i tell you, gurantee i win.
if all fails, i’ll moonwalk my way through the auditions and wait for them to ask me to perform during the final result show. still get famous mar~

p/s: sarcasm intended. daniel has horrible pitching problems. how could he have won when he sang his winner’s single out of tune?!?!?! malaysia never cease to amaze me…

Let me state my two cent-worth for all that matters.
I believe the concept of “Idol” as what the competition takes its name as is a running guideline of who should be the winner for Malaysian Idol. An idol should be of a person who’d everyone go crazy for (and of course, this include the girls being the majority) but more than that. An idol ought to be more than a catching personality on-stage. He should embody a form of which people may want to copy and immulate. If this is the case for determining a winner, I guess Daniel has more to offer than Nita - he is immaculately clean and trustworthy in appearance sake. But can he partake the real challenge in the music industry?
People may say he is young thus allowing him plenty of time to adapt and copy and learn (if not) and later improve himself if he has shown a pitchy performance. This may ring some truth but would the programme title itself says “Malaysian Idol” - a person who is already an singing idol by nature. For otherwise, even my grandmother can be the idol.
There is a persona an idol has to live to and singing excellence is definitely one of them. It is sad that money has blurred the true glow of a real idol that night. It is not a simplistic matter where everyone can punch a message just because he or she likes him for his cute face. Malaysian audience ought to have been more mature in picking the real idol. The night, however, was a showcase of disappointment when the unworthy stepped up as the champion.

i think daniel deserves to win because he is mostly consistent. May not be that good but he is consistently good.
Nita at some times deserves to be voted off already, although I must admit that she is much better than daniel at the end.

I never really bother bout who win or lose.. In fact, i only watched Malaysian Idol at the final.. I heard nita sang once and she indeed has a powerful voice(can take over Jaclyn’s place) Unlike daniel, he sang…….. I didnt mean to criticise him. But his voice is only *NoRmAL* I wonder why he could get into final. As a chinese girl myself, i also like daniel because he is cute. However, this doesn’t mean he should win. This is not MR-Handsome-Cute-Contest but Malaysian idol. The one who is going to represent Malaysia for the Wold idol(or something like dat) Malaysian should have vote someone who can make us proud.(if u know what i mean)

with his looks, it doesnt matter how he sang … i remember my sister took my phone, my brothers phone, and both of my parents phone just to vote for this guy …
he is just normal, not that special nor that lousy … but its best to be in one of them if not whats the point of listening to his songs ??
for example, american idol reject, William hung makes us laugh, while Malaysian Idol 1 winner, Jac inspiresus … being an average ?? who cannot do that …
whatever izzit, i am unlucky enough to have an obsessive sister who plays this Daniel CD all day long … and switch my car radio channel, and even replaced my cars CD …

Not to be anti-patriotic, but I sincerely think that a lot of the first round rejects from American Idol could sing better than both our finalists conbined. This is largely due to the unattractive prize of a recording deal that is never going to rake in big bucks in the current state of the Malaysian music industry. No thanks to piracy and lack of pulic support for local artistes, of course - but who can blame them? Coupled with the already limited pool of real talents in this country, we are never going to get a contender capable of genuinely challenging the rest in the World Idol competition.
Daniel is mediocre at best. Nita is better, but only just.

well for my opinion i think both of them deserve to win. U all might think that Nita/Daniel is da best but every people got their weakness too and I’m saying for the both of them. If this happens everybody will be happy

no1 compares to jac,her voice is flawless. daniel’s voice sucks!!! nita ok la,but still can’t beat jac! jac,i hope u can come n sing on my wedding day..

Hey…. I guess u guys have never heard Daniel sing with his heart before!
His voice is superb! He has improve very fast in 3 month! That time he came to Malacca and sang Inside your heaven, even fans of Jaclyn also cheered for him! Even if he is not tall he is good! And if Nita wins, MI will get a lot of compliments from parents. Because she has been a pub singer for such a long time! Thats why she is good! And like hello! She is arleady married and have kids! How could she be a Idol?Daniel is the best!
